2022 is a big year, we have already seen many launches so far and we will see many more in the coming months. Here, we have a list of vehicles that will be launched in May 2022.
Volkswagen will launch Virtus on June 9th. The manufacturer has already released new medium-sized sedans worldwide. It is a sister model of Skoda Slavia and will share a lot of tools with it Virtus will be launched in two trim levels, there will be dynamic line and performance line. The offer will have two petrol engine options, a 1.0-liter TSI and a 1.5-liter TSI.

Honda City Hybrid
Honda will unveil the City Hybrid on April 14. They have already started releasing teasers of the new sedan. It will be the only hybrid sedan and the most fuel efficient sedan in the segment. The City Hybrid will come with a 1.5-liter petrol engine with two electric motors. The car will be combined with an e-CVT automatic transmission only. The extra battery will reduce the boot size of the sedan.
A three-door version of the Jeep Meridian Compass. However, it is easily distinguishable from the compass. It has a wider, longer and longer wheelbase. The interior design is more or less the same but it now gets a brown theme and new upholstery. The Meridian will come with the same 2.0-liter diesel engine. Offer will include a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Jeep Meridian is expected to launch sometime in May.
Tata Nexon EV Long-Range
Tata Nexon is working on a longer-range version of the EV and is expected to launch on April 20th. The size of the battery pack will be 30.2 kWh to 40 kWh ARAI claims the range will go from 312 km to 400 km. It will come with rear disc brakes, an electronic stabilization program, adjustable regeneration, cruise control and reduced boot space.
Maruti Suzuki XL6
The Maruti XL6 will launch on April 21, respectively. The MPV will now come with a new generation of touchscreen infotainment systems and there may be some minor changes to the interior as well. The biggest changes will be to the engine and gearbox. There is a new K12C DualJet VVT engine that produces a maximum of 115 PS of power. The new 6-speed torque converter will then have an automatic transmission that will replace the existing 4-speed torque converter unit.
Kia is working to launch its first electric car in the Indian market by May 2022 It is based on e-GMP platform Kia will import full loaded version of EV6 for Indian market which is why it will come via CBU route. This means it will cost more. Depending on the variant, the power output ranges from 170 PS to 585 PS.
Hyundai Venue Facelift / Venue N Line
Hyundai has started testing the venue facelift and venue N line on our Indian roads. It is expected to launch by May 2022. Venue Facelift will come with a new parametric grille, newly designed tail lamps, new alloy wheels and some new features. Hyundai is also testing the N Line version of the Venue, which will come with N Line specific upgrades just like we get on the i20 N line.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG / Toyota Glanza CNG
Toyota has already confirmed that Glanzer will have a CNG version called E-CNG. This will return 25 kmpl of fuel efficiency. This means that Maruti Suzuki will also launch Baleno with a CNG powertrain. Maruti will call their version S-CNG as they do with their other factory-fitted CNG vehicles. Power and torque output will be reduced while running CNG. Both vehicles could be launched in late May.
Skoda Kushak Monte Carlo
Skoda is working on the Monte Carlo version of Kushak. It is expected to launch sometime in April and prices may be announced later this month. It gets the Monte Carlo specific cosmetic changes that make the SUV look more sporty and will have some extra features. It is expected to be sold with both engines.
Maruti Suzuki 2022 Breeze
Maruti Suzuki will finally update Brezza. It will be a heavy facelift so it will come with a whole new exterior and the interior will be redone as well. There will also be lots of new features on offer. For example, a new instrument cluster, electric sunroof, multi-function steering wheel, paddle shifter, new touchscreen infotainment system, etc. Maruti Suzuki will offer a new 1.5-liter dualjet VVT petrol engine and a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. .
