Kia Sonet is the entry level model of South Korean car manufacturer in India. Kia has recently launched the 2022 version of Sonnet in the market. The 2022 version of the Kia Sonet starts at Rs 7.15 lakh, ex-showroom. Sonet has received some feature updates with some cosmetic changes. The car has already reached the dealership. The Kia Sonet is a sub-4 meter compact SUV that competes in the segment with the likes of Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300. Replacing the 2022 model Kia Sonet, the manufacturer is now offering side airbags and highline tire pressure monitoring systems as standard. The IMT variant seen in the video here gets Vehicle Stability Management, Heel Assist Control, Brake Assist and Electronic Stability Control. Kia is offering curtain airbags from HTX + variant. Kia is also offering a 4.2-inch color instrument cluster from the HTX variant. From the base HTE variant, Kia is offering a semi-leather upholstery.
The sonnet logo of Telgate has been updated and the same is shown in the video. Kia is now offering 2022 Sonet in 21 variants. In addition to these updates, the car is available in two new color options. Kia is offering Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver shades with Sonnet, but the color seen here in the video is intense red. The Kia Sonet is now priced at Rs 7.15 lakh, starting at the ex-showroom and up to Rs 13.09 lakh at the ex-showroom. The ex-showroom price of the HTX iMT variant seen in the video here is Rs 10.79 lakh.
Along with the Sonet, Kia has also launched the 2022 Celtos SUV in the market. Like the sonnet, the Celts have received two new color options and other feature updates. Kia Sonet is available with three engine options. There is a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 83 Ps and 115 Nm of peak torque. This engine is only available with a manual gearbox. The next engine on offer is the 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine. This engine comes with manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option. The engine generates 100 Ps and 240 Nm of peak torque. The last engine on offer is the 1.0 liter, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The engine comes with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT gearbox option. The engine generates 120 Ps and 172 Nm of peak torque.
