The exact size of the 2022 Ford Maverick pickup truck

Even today I think of riding on the back of my friend’s father’s red 1980 Ford Ranger with red interior. Even as a child those who had the back seat were slightly smaller with no legs.

Compact pickup trucks used to dot on American roadways, but most of them have disappeared from showrooms over the past few decades.

With the arrival of the Ford Maverick in 2022, the Blue Oval’s growing pickup truck market closed. Spoiler alert: It’s great, and that’s why it’s named Car connectionn 2022 has been named as the best car to buy and 2022 as the best pickup truck to buy

With a TCC rating of 7.0 out of 10, 2022 Ford Maverick is the best in the competition. Thanks to the price-packed price, creative packaging, great usability and a fuel-efficient powertrain it offers antidote to larger, and more unnecessary pickup trucks. But while some features may not be as stand-alone options, kids may be frustrated with certain components and have to make choices about fuel efficiency or all-wheel drive.

Here’s what I learned from spending a week with the 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat FWD.

Hit: It’s compact

Everyone was excited for the Ford Ranger to return to the United States in 2019, but it’s nothing like my friend’s father’s truck. Maverick Hall. At 199.7 inches long, it’s one of the few pickup trucks that actually fits into the standard-length garage I built, with extra space. Despite its small size it is still useful with a 54.4-inch bed that was able to hold my downhill skis and boots (diagonally). And a ranger reaching the side of the bed below, an F-150 or even a sink opposite the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

Miss: Seatbelt frustration for some

Kids love to be independent and hate to help. But Maverick turned out to be frustrating for my 6- and 8-year-olds when it came time to tie the knot. The rear seat belt clips are stuck to the seat buttons, making it difficult for my mini mess to click on the seat belt.

Hit: Creative Packaging FTW

About a foot shorter than the Maverick Ranger and has a five-inch smaller wheelbase, yet it is wider inside. The smaller pickup has a rear legroom more than 1.5 inches, effectively the same amount of hip and shoulder room, and the total passenger volume is about four inches more. It comes down to a lot of new platforms and creative packaging. Despite the small size, the interior seems more spacious thanks to the creative thinking like scalloped door panels. Like the larger F-150, the underside of the rear seat is inverted to reveal hidden underseat storage, and the longer roof line is heavier.
The headroom will be more comfortable behind a Maverick cab than an adult four-door ranger.

Miss: Speaker placement problem

Maverick has speakers mounted on the dashboard and on the front door panel near the windshield, which all seems normal. But at the rear, the speakers are in the C-pillar, which is lowered to the rear passenger’s head. This setup makes the sound much louder for the rear passengers than the front ones, making it difficult to find a volume that everyone in the Maverick would feel comfortable with.

Hits: Quality-packed and efficient

Priced at m 21,490 with 42 mpg City, 33 Highway, and 37 combined EPA fuel economy ratings, the quality and efficiency of the hybrid maverick cannot be simply argued. My Alto Blue Lariat Tester with Desert Brown Interior is reasonably priced at $ 29,340 and features beautiful features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a 6.5-inch driver information display in the gauge cluster and a power-sliding rear window. Of course, the interior has hard plastic everywhere, but the nice granularity and a cool blue and gray color scheme of my tester was pleasing to the eye.

Miss: Missing individual options and configuration

Although Maverick thinks it packs a value in almost every size, you either pay more or compromise when configuring Ford. The only way to get heated seats in Loria was to choose the $ 3,570 Loriaat luxury package and they would have been better in my cold week in Minnesota. Front-wheel-drive hybrids cannot coexist with all-wheel drive. Most problematically, Ford underestimated Maverick’s demand: it couldn’t make them fast enough. Ford spokesman Trevor Scott told The Car Connection that the current model mix for 2022 is 40% hybrid and 60% non-hybrid, but the number one thing consumers want is a hybrid with all-wheel drive, Scott said.

The 2022 Ford Maverick is America’s most needed truck. It has plugged a hole in the market and snatched it and talked of America. My friend’s dad now drives a Chevrolet Silverado 1500, but who knows, maybe one day he’ll end up with a Maverick.
