After years of patient waiting, Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited (SMIL), an Indian subsidiary of Japanese two-wheeler maker Suzuki, has finally launched its first 250cc sports adventure tour, the V-Strom SX, in the Indian subcontinent. A price of Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom).
The brand new model marks Suzuki Motorcycle India’s entry into the 250cc Sports Adventure Tour segment and, according to the company, the motorbike will be able to provide its riders with perfect versatility. The company claims that the bike is designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian riders for their daily commute, long highway rides and rough terrain exploration.
Named the ‘Master of All Adventures’, the V-Strom SX borrows design and engineering influences from the older siblings of its V-Strom series. The 250cc motorcycle is designed with Suzuki’s “Toughness in a Slender Shell” concept. Under this concept, the V-Storm SX gets a rough, adventure-inspired appearance due to the compact engine design featuring a slim exterior shape that looks like it’s wrapped in a “protector-like” shell. The adventure travel legend also gets a beak design nose inspired by DR-Z Racer and DR-BIG off-road models.

The new motorbike has an LED octagonal shaped headlight that provides a smooth look with high visibility. It also has an LED tail light setup on the back. The V-Storm SX also features features like Suzuki Easy Start System, Suzuki Ride Connect, USB outlet, Bluetooth enabled digital console, turn-by-turn navigation, incoming calls, SMS alerts and WhatsApp alert display and missed calls. Alerts, display of phone battery level and estimated arrival time.
This adventure is powered by a 249cc, 4-stroke, 1-cylinder, oil-cooled SOHC engine that comes with Suzuki-owned Suzuki Oil-Cooling System (SOCS) technology. The bike provides excellent torque and smooth run-up at low rpm. The V-Storm SX is based on analytics technology from Suzuki’s MotoGP division. The technology was used to make weight loss valves, bean type roller rocker arms, retainers and pistons.
The Sports Adventure Tour also comes with sensors to provide data on electronic fuel injection so that the ideal amount of fuel can be monitored and supplied to match the riding conditions. Powered by SEP technology, the Suzuki V-Strom SX promises unparalleled performance and high fuel efficiency without compromising on maneuverability.
The model will be available at all Suzuki Premium dealerships across India and will come in three colors – Champion Yellow No. 2, Pearl Blaze Orange and Glass Sparkle Black.
