Mahindra has revised the price of XUV700. Prices start from money now. Go up to 13.18 lakh ex-showroom and Rs. 24.58 lakh ex-showroom. Depending on the variant, the price has gone up by Rs. 78,000

The petrol version is now starting at Rs. 13.18 lakhs and goes up to Rs 22.75 lakh where the diesel version now starts from Rs. 13.47 lakhs and goes up to Rs 24.58 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom. There are no mechanical or cosmetic changes, even the list of features remains the same.

There are two trim levels where the XUV700 is offered. There is MX Trim and AX Trim. MX trim is offered as 5-seater only whereas AX trim is offered as 5-seater or 7-seater. Rumor has it that Mahindra may offer top-end variants of the XUV700 with a 6-seater layout where the second row will be replaced with two captain chairs. The AX trim is further divided into four variants. There are AX3, AX5, AX7 and AX7L.

Engine and gearbox

The XUV700 comes with two engines. There is a 2.2-liter diesel engine and a 2.0-liter petrol engine. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Both engines have set a benchmark in the segment and the XUV700 is currently the most powerful SUV.

A petrol engine is a turbocharged unit that receives direct injection. It produces a maximum of 200 Ps of power and 380 Nm of peak torque. Diesel engine tunes are offered in two states. The MX trim gets a low state of tuning where the engine produces a maximum of 155 PS of power and 360 Nm of peak torque. It only comes with a manual gearbox. In the AX Trim, the engine produces a maximum of 185 PS of power. If you get a manual gearbox, the torque output is 420 Nm or 450 Nm, if you get an automatic transmission.

Only SUVs in the segment to get AWD

The XUV700 is the only SUV in the segment that comes with an all-wheel drive system. This is not the exact 4 × 4 drivetrain that Thar gets but it can still be helpful in complex and slippery situations. An all-wheel drive system that detects slip and then sends power to the rear wheels. However, Mahindra gives you an option to force the all-wheel drive system.
