Mahindra XUV700 AWD vs Toyota Fortuner Legender 4×2 in a drag race video

The Mahindra XUV700 is currently one of the most talked about SUVs in India. Mahindra launched it last year and the SUV received an overwhelming response. The XUV700 has become so popular that the car is currently waiting more than a year. Since the delivery of the XUV700 began, we’ve seen several reviews, ownership, and performance videos of the SUV online. Here we have a video showing a top-end diesel automatic Mahindra XUV700 AWD version competing with Toyota Fortune Legend in a drag race.

The video was uploaded by Elvis Yadav Vlogs on his YouTube channel. In this video, Vlogger and his friends perform well in a drag race to find out if their new Toyota Fortune Legend and Mahindra XUV700 are being taken on an empty road. Vlogger owned the Toyota Fortune Legend and the XUV700 was his friend. The Legender seen here is the 4 × 2 version whereas the XUV700 is the AWD version. The Toyota Fortuner is a heavier SUV than the XUV700 in terms of weight but, it produces more power and torque.

The Mahindra XUV700 diesel is powered by a 2.2 liter turbocharged engine that generates 185 PS and 450 Nm of peak torque. The Toyota Fortune Legend, on the other hand, has a 2.8 liter turbo diesel engine that generates 205 Ps and 500 Nm of peak torque. On paper, Fortune’s legend clearly won the race. The competition was conducted off-road for safety reasons. The race was conducted in multiple rounds. Both SUVs were lined up for the race. Vlogger was driving a Fortune and his friend was on the XUV700

The race begins and the Toyota Fortune Legend moves off the line quite aggressively. Legend got the lead right after the start and maintained it throughout the round. The Mahindra XUV700 was right behind the Legend but in no time did it overtake the SUV. Vlogger was very happy with the way the legend was performing and it was visible on his face too. After the first round, they take the SUVs to the starting point and line up for the second round. The car was lined up and the SUVs started racing again. Like the first round, the Toyota Legend took the lead immediately and maintained it throughout the race.

Mahindra was behind XUV700. After the second round, the XUV700 driver noted that he forgot to set the XUV700 to zoom mode (Sport Mode) due to which the power delivery was not aggressive. Even after being added in zoom mode, the XUV700 did not outperform the Legend of Fortune. After this round, the drivers switched cars for the final round. In this round, Vlogger was driving the XUV700 while his friend was in Fortune. Surprisingly in this round, Mahindra XUV700 took the lead and finally managed it. The Toyota Fortune Legend was declared the winner of this drag race and it also shows how the behavior of the car changes depending on the driver’s experience.
