Czech automobile maker Skoda Auto reports that March 2022 was the best month in terms of brand sales in its two-decade history in India. Automaker has revealed that it has received over 10,000 bookings for its new offer – the compact sedan Slavia.
More sedans are being built, including a Honda City hybrid that offers exceptional fuel economy and a facelifted version. The Slavic siblings, Volkswagen Vertus, have also been released and pre-booking is already open.
Skoda launched Slavia in India a month ago and the company said it has received a great response from buyers in the country. With its impressive sales figures, Slavia is on the verge of capturing segment leaders like Honda City and Hyundai Vernar.

Commenting on the achievement of this huge milestone, Jack Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda Auto, said, “Slavia’s demand has already exceeded our expectations. We have booked for the next three months of production. We are confident that 2022 will be the biggest year ever for us in India, “Hollis added,” We are fully prepared to take the brand to new heights, as India has become a key market for global squadrons. “
In addition, Hollis, the month of Skoda’s all-time best brand in India, said, “The whole team’s concerted effort to ensure a successful roll-out of the INDIA 2.0 project is bearing fruit.” This project is not just about new platforms and products, but a complete revival of our business processes that enhances the ownership experience, expands our network reach, harms our customers and brings a variety of value-added services. “
The ডkoda Slavia is one of the best looking compact sedans on the market and has a nice sloping roof design. It is equipped with crystalline LED projector headlights, LED DRL, dual-tone alloy wheels for top-end variants, all-LED tail lamps and োkoda signature butterfly grille. Slavia is the widest, longest, and longest automobile in the segment, which translates to more interior space for passengers. It has the highest ground clearance in the 179mm segment.
Features include a floating type touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger and two-spoke steering wheel with multi-function buttons. Ventilated seats, automatic temperature control, an electric sunroof and dual-tone leather upholstery are just a few of the features available.
The list of safety features that Skoda Slavia is equipped with includes six airbags, heel hold assist, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, brake disc wiping, motor slip regulation, multi-collision braking and EBS. It comes with an electronic differential locking system, a segment-first feature.
Skoda launched Slavia in India in February 2022 with the choice of two turbocharged petrol engines as petrol-only sedans. The first is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI petrol engine that boasts 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque, while the second option is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI petrol engine that claims 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. In addition to the regular 6-speed manual gearbox for both engines, the Slavia comes with a 6-speed torque converter for the 1.0-liter TSI and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox for the 1.5-liter TSI. Skoda Slavia is priced from Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 17.79 lakh. It is presented in three forms of active, ambitious and style.
Highly anticipated sedan
The Honda City Hybrid, which may launch this month, is the next big thing for sedan lovers. And then there’s Volkswagen Vertus with the same engine and platform as Slavia, which is going to be a treat!
