But the test that showed the mule had the current bumper.
Ertiga will now come with a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system that will run on a new user interface that we saw at the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. It will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There may be some internal changes as well. So, expect a new upholstery design, tweaked dashboard, modified instrument cluster and a new steering wheel.
Mr. CV Raman, Chief Technical Officer (Engineering), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., said, “Ertiga’s continued success in the market is a testament to its undisputed reign as one of India’s favorite MPVs. Maruti Suzuki has chosen the Ertiga as the first car to get the new 1.5-liter K10C engine in their line-up. The new engine will replace the existing 1.5-liter K10B engine. The new engine comes with Maruti’s dualjet VVT technology which means the number of injectors per cylinder has been increased from one to two. This gives better control over the fuel. This not only helps improve energy efficiency but also increases power output.
The power output will be increased from 105 PS to 115 PS but we expect the torque output to be more or less the same at 138 Nm. As standard, the engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The good news is that Maruti has finally decided to replace the old 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission with a new 6-speed torque converter unit. A paddle shifter will also be placed behind the steering wheel to take manual control of the gearbox.
