SUVs are commonplace on our roads and manufacturers are now planning a number of updates to the Seltos SUV. According to a document leaked online, the 2022 version of the Kia Seltos will receive several updates, one of which is an iMT (intelligent manual transmission) for the diesel engine variant. Other updates include an improved suspension setup.
According to the document, the 2022 version of the Kia Celtos will feature standard tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), rear disc brakes, side airbags, ESC, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC) and brake assist. Across all variants. Kia will also offer curtain airbags after HTX +. Some of the other updates we can get out of the document include the Kia Seltos and the new logo for the Kia Connected car feature. The design of IRVM has also been modified with a Kia Connect button. X-line logo on the Indigo Pera seats of the X-line version Kia will also offer Celtos in two new colors. A new Sparkling Silver and Imperial Blue exterior color will be available for Celtos.
Coming back to major updates like Diesel iMT and the new suspension tune The enhanced suspension setup on the Seltos will be standard across the full range while the diesel iMT gearbox will only be offered with the HTK + variant. The HTK + variant has been newly launched and this variant will also offer a diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission for a limited time. Kia Seltos was initially launched in India in 2019 and since then, SUVs have been successful in our market. It became popular among buyers for its bold appearance and feature loaded cabin.

According to reports, Kia is currently working on a facelift for the Celtos SUV and similar tests have been carried out abroad. The facelifted version of the Celtos could launch in mid-2022. The updated 2022 model from Kia Seltos is like another update that Facelift will get before it officially arrives in India. Kiao is updating the cars in terms of safety, offering front and side airbags as standard across the range. A feature update is also expected to be seen in their entry-level sub-4m SUV sonnet.
The Kia Seltos is available in the Indian market with three engine options. It has a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 115 Ps and 144 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a manual, iMT and an IVT gearbox The next engine on offer is the 1.5 liter turbo diesel. The engine generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is offered with a manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission (the 2022 version will also get iMT). The third engine on offer is the 1.4 liter turbo petrol which generates 140 Ps and 242 Nm of peak torque. This engine gets 7-speed DCT and manual transmission. Celtos are currently priced at Rs 10.19 lakh, starting at the ex-showroom and up to Rs 18.45 lakh at the ex-showroom. With these updates, the price of the 2022 Celts may increase.
