Now that the BMW iX is here, it serves as the brand’s internal flagship. Its interior luxury and technology will move to the rest of the lineup, with some vehicles getting more than others. In some new spy photos, we can see that the cabin of the upcoming BMW X6 LCI iX will get quite a bit of technology. (We do not own the spy photos but they can be viewed here)
These new photos show the BMW X6 both externally and internally From the outside, it’s clear that the X6 will get LCI shaper, more angular grilles, slimmer headlights and possibly some new front air intakes. However, these are expected, as they are BMW’s usual LCI update 6
What’s interesting is the inside. In these photos, you can clearly see that the X6’s dashboard is equipped with the same floating dual-screen setup as the BMW iX. Of course, it doesn’t seem to be floating too much on the X6 but it is on the iX. With that screen comes BMW’s latest iDrive 8, the same new system you get on the iX and i4. It’s a much more advanced system than the iDrive 7, even if it comes with a steeper learning curve.
Additionally, there is more to see or not to see – lack of gear levers. BMW has traditionally console-mounted shift levers, regardless of transmission. Now, though, the BMW X6 has the same fun toggle switch as the BMW iX. It’s only a matter of time before more BMWs start getting both features.
The BMW X6 has always been a fashion-forward car, showing off the stylish urban type to please more than anyone else. With these new updates, though, it has become a bean more high-tech, which will help it attract a younger audience in the near future.
