Maruti Suzuki will launch Ertiga on 21st April 2022. Booking for 2022 Ertiga has already opened at Rs 11,000 so far, we know there will be a new engine and a gearbox that will debut with the Ertiga. However, now the variant list and color options have been leaked online.
The 2022 Ertiga will be offered in four variants. There will be LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi +. There will also be a Tour M variant for commercial purposes. Automatic transmissions will be offered on VXi, ZXi and ZXi +. CNG powertrains will now be offered on VXi, ZXi and Tour M. Previously, CNG was offered only with VXi trim.
Ertiga will be offered in seven color options. There will be Pearl Arctic White, Magma Gray, Auburn Red and Prime Oxford Blue. The new colors for 2022 are Pearl Dignity Brown and Midnight Black 6 The Splendid Silver has replaced the Silky Silver.

New engine
The 2022 Ertiga will come with a new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engine is very similar to the current 1.5-liter engine but the manufacturer is now using two injectors instead of one injector per cylinder. This helps increase control over fuel.
Due to the improvement, the power output will increase by 10 Ps. Thus, the engine will produce 115 PS of maximum power. By comparison the current engine produces 105 PS. We still don’t know the torque output of the new engine but we expect it to be around 140 Nm.
New gearbox
As standard, the 2022 Ertiga comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. What’s new is the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission which replaces the 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In addition, the pedal shifter will be mounted behind the steering wheel to take manual control of the gearbox.
The 4-speed auto currently used by Maruti Suzuki debuted in 2003 on the Grand Vitara XL7. The current transmission does not have a number of gears and sports modes. The new 6-speed unit will respond faster than the current unit. Because it has more gear, the gearbox will also help improve the fuel economy.
More features
Maruti Suzuki will also add more features to the Ertiga. It will come with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system the size of the current infotainment unit. But, it will run a new user interface that we saw in Baleno. Maruti Suzuki calls it SmartPlay Pro System.
We expect the Ertiga to come with a modified multi-information display, cruise control, a new steering wheel, a modified dashboard design and tweaked upholstery. Other features on offer include keyless entry, push-button to start / stop the engine, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and more.
